Origins

As Korea is entering a post-crisis period its development model appears to be in flux. People who are shocked by the immense cost of the old system are urging an extensive program of liberalization in capital, labor, and product markets. On the other hand champions of the old system are seeking to protect it by using nationalist sentiments and inflating fears of job loss.
The academic and policy analysts remain in a tense debate about the extent to which these two developments are driving Koreas development towards a new model of economic governance. This article analyzes the five phases of the Korean evolution in terms of its political development that include democratic democracies that are not liberal (1945-60) democratic autoritarianism (1961-72) authoritarian exceptionalism (1972-1877), democratic paternalism (2001-2002) and democratic participation (2002). Creationism in Korea
In South Korea, 26% of the population is Christian. Creationists have made progress in promoting their beliefs to this segment. A 2009 survey showed that almost one-third of respondents did not believe in evolution. Of the respondents, 41% believed that there was insufficient scientific evidence to support the theory 39% of respondents said it contradicted their religious beliefs. 17 percent said they did not comprehend it. It also translated a number of films and slides from ICR and also some books on the subject that were published outside of Korea. KACR members gave lectures at universities and churches throughout the country.
One example of an KACR success story was at the KAIST university in Seoul. Students at KAIST in Seoul were keen on the concept of creationism that they raised funds and received funding to build a small museum dedicated to creation on campus.
In addition to its public activities, KACR publishes a bimonthly news magazine called CREATION, that covers topics related to creation science. It has also hosted a series of lectures by ICR staff. It has also organized local branches that hold seminars and present talks to schoolchildren and other community groups.
The evolution of South Korea
In the late nineteenth century and into the early twentieth century, Korea began to adopt a more Westernized style of life. The hanbok, the traditional Korean dress, was replaced to miniskirts, as well as other fashion elements from overseas. The traditional Korean music was also replaced by rock and roll and jazz. The Korean peninsula was later ruled by the Goryeo Dynasty. In the Three Kingdoms period, Goguryeo, Baekje and Silla gradually developed into powerful states in Manchuria and on the peninsula.
