It also doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of the room.

It's still a great deal particularly if your office or home has a lot of unfinished floors and you're looking to save money. It's also extremely quiet and operates when you're at work or in school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's among our most attractive robot vacuums. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also its smartest. It comes with advanced features, like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads on its own).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop that has a perfect 10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It comes with a simple mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit.
