It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score a perfect 10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely self-refill and empty its base station and boasts an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with an easy mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this wasn't completely foolproof in our tests, and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.

Its vacuum has a high suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also has a feature called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas of the house depending on how dirty the areas tend to be.
