iRobot recommends that you tidy the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes putting away any toys or other clutter it might come across. It is also recommended to keep the dustbin and filter clean to prevent them from becoming clogged. When the i3+'s internal bin is filled or the battery is low it will return to its docking station, automatically emptying its debris into the station's external dustbin and continues cleaning the area where it started. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for about an hour and a half continuous use, and it takes around three hours to fully recharge.

2. iRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the latest features. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and the most important feature of all -- it has a self-emptying dustbin that eliminates one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, which lets it map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can control your robot through the app or voice.

In our testing, the i7+ was faster and more maneuverable than our runner-up and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surface kinds including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin that eliminates major sources of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.

We were also amazed by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning routines, move itself around the room and vacuum an area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. We were able, once connected, to speak commands to the i7+, like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car in a sea of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses. It is powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in most homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered with a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy that produces power without fading for 60 minutes.
