The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention. It will leave your floors clean. Its surprisingly affordable price and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are pluses.

Make sure you regularly check your robot's brushes for hair tangled and large particles and wash them if needed. Some models can also self-empty the onboard dust bin and place it in an additional bin located at the base. This can reduce the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the top model) they utilize smart mapping to create detailed floorplans and avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. The robots also have the feature of Carpet Boost that increases its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our tests on floors that are bare and are particularly effective at cleaning pet hair. There are some issues, however, that prevent them from being our top option. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks and can't navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of a room.

However, it's a good choice to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on an Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also very quiet and can work when you're at work or going to school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. And, if you have to, you can switch the mopping pad for a dry one in minutes.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient in taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also comes with strong suction and self-emptying bin. It's the best robot vacuum that mops hoover for carpets, but it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning robot mop and vacuum.

This high-performing mop and vacuum combination utilizes advanced sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste and it also learns the layout of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is similar to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to remove and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross contamination. The flex arm is ideal for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire home, and it did so with only 66 percent of its battery left. It also did a good job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms that had mixed flooring types, including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was excellent and it stayed clear of fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically empties into its base, and also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competition's compact models, this mop and robot vacuum is one of the most appealing looking in our reviews. The newest model from iRobot is its most advanced, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that has an exemplary 10/10 in our tests due to a mix of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully self-refill and empty its base station, and it boasts industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models as well, the X40 is easy to use, offering a simple mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only real drawback is that it's a noisy unit that could be problematic if you run it in the morning before work or in the evening as you try to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive however, not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally powerful and more attractive. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful however, it will cost you more and make more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot cleaner robot mop and vacuum. It comes with a variety of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes charge of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multifunction dock that automatically empty the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot vacuum cleaner reviews makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floorplans and identify obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its top competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this wasn't foolproof in our tests and could be confused with power cords or obstructions.

Its vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to accomplish the task. It also comes with an attribute known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas in the home based on how dirty these areas are.

For bigger homes, it's worth opting for models that has zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean a particular area of your house using the app or voice controls. If you have furniture, a stairway mode is also a good option. For families with busy schedules recharge functions and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off can be very beneficial.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more intelligent than its price would suggest. It has a great vacuuming performance and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using only one pad and a reciprocating movement that cleans better that most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've examined. It's also self-sufficient, with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot app is designed to guide you through a mapping run which collects information about your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or create a spot-clean. You can also use it to prioritize the most soiled areas to improve performance. The app has a range of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, which means it can get to corners and under furniture more easily. It features a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction, as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also create a spot-clean that scours a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are shaped like cute little eyes. It's good at vacuuming but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is noisier than the other top robotic vacuums we've tried. It also has a less user-friendly app and a small base station that isn't able to double as a bin for emptying.
