The Best robot vacuum cleaner UK Robot automatic vacuum cleaner and mop That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He reviews and tests cleaning appliances, focusing on mopping and robot vacuum combos. Multitaskers are a great option for those who are looking to remove mopping from their to-do lists. Some of them have excellent mapping capabilities and obstacles avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you need to select if you're looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other models on this list, making it easier to navigate in tight corners and under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it some of my favorite navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in robot vacuums. It has a 4600mAh battery that can last up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery during the cleaning.
It's fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and the hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in a single sweep. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to pick up dirt, pet hair, and poop with ease. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help draw away debris from corners.
The mopping performance is a little less impressive, but not by a lot. The rotating mop spins at a high speed and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scrubbing up dirt and staining. I've also noticed that the front arms protrude out slightly more than other robots, which can be helpful to get into tight corners and on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys and books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't produce as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping, and is separate from the vacuum. It's simple to set up and performs well however, it's something you'll have to keep an eye on when you purchase this vacuum solely for the purpose of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it an ideal choice for homeowners who want an extremely efficient, flexible and adaptable cleaning machine.
The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the home and find furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean effectively and efficiently. This ensures an even and thorough clean, while also being relatively rapid.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach a variety of surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other hard to reach areas. The side brush can be stretched to extend to the floor, close to the walls or other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and dry to remove odors and prevent buildup.
App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the amount of suction, and choose between a back-and-forth or slightly more random patterns. You can also choose the number of passes which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also disable the side brush in order to prevent damage to carpets and rug.
The device comes with a high price tag but is packed with a wide array of advanced features. However, it's important to note that it incurs periodic costs in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For instance the brushroll should be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad should be replaced every three to six months.
The robot vacuum mop has a high Amazon rating and includes many physical automation features. The robot vacuum also has a power button which doubles as a 'Clean' button' and a Home button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the trash bin, fills up its water tank and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home tidy without spending too much time on chores. It's a top-performing device, smart navigation, and a long battery life that makes it easy to keep your home clean with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is an all-in-one mop and vacuum mop cleaner robot. It is capable of mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two parts which include a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping unit that includes a microfiber pad. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming, but it does mean you don't have to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank of water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its greatest feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of collecting pet hair. It was able to capture many of the hair that shed by our cats, and even made it into the nooks and crannies on our stairs where other robots struggled. The noise levels were low, and there were some pleasant jingles to signal that it was beginning and getting its work done.
Its biggest drawbacks were its simplistic app and the requirement to switch out the modules when switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't save multiple maps. This can be a problem if your home has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our test, but it also has distinctive features that make it worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its enormous dock which doubles as the robot vacuum that vacuums and mops's charging base and the housing for two water tanks, a cleaning sink and the 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically eliminates.
The base also has a variety of buttons to control the system. These allow you to manually start cleaning or recall the robot vacuum best or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two of the buttons to turn off the child lock which is a great feature for parents who are worried about children playing with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more precise in recognizing objects.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will occasionally become so entangled with an obstruction, such as a power cord draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and stops working until you free it. While this was rare, it was a frustrating experience when it happened particularly since the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert in its application.
Another possible issue is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during cleaning. You'll need to manually swap between the two, which isn't an issue except for the fact that the mopping pads aren't washed and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a major change from the utilitarian all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing appearance in a market which is dominated by clunky boxes and clunky models.
