Upgrades can boost the stats of a piece and at times even add additional features. The worth of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements, and the amount of random enhancements used.

For instance, the top racial shield Razortail is usually upgraded to improve its lightning absorb capability in PvP or to provide additional defenses to missile-based builds in PvM. This makes it more tradeable than the un-upgraded version.

Reroll Tokens

Reroll tokens let you roll a purchased item such as a weapon, armor or ring. The item is swapped for one similar one and comes with a different set of extra bonuses. Players can roll their equipment into three aspects that include physical power, magical power, and health. Physical power upgrades boost the damage done by weapons and melee attacks and spell power upgrades rings and mage attacks. Health upgrades give the player an extra health.

Three types of rerolls tokens are available in three categories: upgrade, rare and legendary. Each of these upgrades an item to a higher quality and requires an upgraded reroll token in order to create it. Upgrades with enhanced capabilities require a common item, while rare upgrades require a special or legendary item and legendary upgrades require three legendary items.

Upgrades can be beneficial for certain items, but they are not because they boost stats. They are more valuable to players when they get the perfect roll. A perfectly rolled 200/6500 armor set piece, for example is highly coveted by the melee PvP communities and could be worth as much as 20-50 times the non-upp’d version.

The game will display the requirements when you select the upgrade component that is incorporated into the item.
