Does Technology Make Item Upgrading Better Or Worse
World of Warcraft - item upgrader Upgrading
The upgrade of an item level upgrade allows players to boost an item's gear rating up 700 points, and then give it a bonus. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded for their unique stats (like an ideally broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) and others, like weapons, don't change much post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats such as damage to attack, crit chance PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons also come with a flat bonus which increases the damage they deal per second. Additionally some weapons come with an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a single unit. In some instances, this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon can sustain on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will increase until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons also change the stats of the base. While this is generally beneficial but it can also have negative consequences too. Upgrades can make things unusable, unless you are exceptionally lucky.
Armor items can also be upgraded to increase their stats. For instance, if you have chests or helms, this will increase its defense base while gloves and belts enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it may reduce its value.
The upgrade template for a weapon will display the new stats it will gain upon upgrading and their respective values. This means that a weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will strike three times less, since it is an absolute number.
A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button with circular arrows within the item menu. This will reroll the item and alter its stats however, it will not reset the weapon's levels or tie it to the account status.
Armor
A few tweaks to your armor can make an enormous difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets offer massive increases in resistance to curses, poison and fire as well as magic. This can make it easier to traverse difficult terrains. In general, the greater defense your character has, the more value you will get out of each point of health you have, so it's important to improve your armor as often as you can.
To improve your armor, head to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four fountains in all, and each requires you to complete a specific side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed your main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. In general, you'll be looking at anything from three to five Red Chuchu Jellies and ten Rupees for the initial upgrade, then anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent upgrade. For instance the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a large group of enemies in the majority of cold conditions, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, granting you enough protection to survive the full-on assault with a few friends.
It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll want to focus on enhancing it to increase physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power if you're Mage. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still wear by the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight The Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
You can also gain perks for your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades to the weapon that you'll use to win the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have some upgrades to the armor on your chest and helmets to allow you to sneak around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by a participant, produce an immediate effect for a short period of time. There are five types of potions that have different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to enhance their level of effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.
Potion upgrades cost a certain amount of XP, which can be earned by crafting them on a table or in the Alchemist's chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion as well as the item's Rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion you need to right-click it in your inventory. Select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open a GUI that allows you to choose the potion that you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they will offer when upgraded. Upgrades to potions can be made in batches of up to five at a time and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP count.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not be degraded until you use it again or break the bottle it is stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking it in your inventory.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the way potions are used. Splash potions for instance have now a duration of zero, not the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display for the item. The table of potion now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Contrary to Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be mixed in cauldrons. Also, putting a potion on a full cauldron, it drains the contents and refills the bottle.
In addition, there are lingering potions that are brewed with splash and dragon breath potions. Similarly, a lingering potions effect can be extended by adding redstone to it. The table of potion ingredients is now arranged more like the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as potion of leaping, potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket is a small, inexpensive ornament or piece jewelry. It can also refer to an object or decoration that serves a purpose but is not particularly important, such as a thimble. In some cultures a trinket is used to show affection or friendship between family members.
In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrades (official statement), trinkets can be traded out at any time without losing their stats.
The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and the capital of each zone, as well as in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available using tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.
Upgrading a trinket is a cost-effective alternative to purchasing new ones. One can upgrade a trinket for as little 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same base level as the previous trinket however, it will also come with an additional 1% bonus upgrade.
When the old Trinkets are not usable they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase both their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players and are an extremely popular alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most important items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are upgraded first, followed by their secondary gear, and then other pieces of equipment they won't replace anytime soon (such as rings or cloaks). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when choosing the items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to tank players then they should consider upgrading their helm, chest and shoulders.
When they are no longer useful, trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket has an additional bonus of 1. A re-upgrade, however, can cause damage to the trinket unless it is saved using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still cheaper than buying a new one.
