This projector has very good grayscale OOTB, with the lowest DeltaE errors being 2.3 (which is not noticeable to trained eyes). It also showed slight differences in color, such as when Adam hit the light staff against the ground.
Other features include 3D support, keystone correction and autofocus. These features ease installation and setup. It also supports BenQ's standard setup options. However, it does not have a lens shift or vertical focus. It has an image distortion feature that can be useful in less-than ideal installations however it can affect the quality of images.
GP500 Platinum
The GP500 includes a range of standard and uncommon convenience and quality of life features, such as Keystone and Corner Fit which digitally warp the image to help with less than ideal installations and the Toslink optical Audio Out jack that mutes the built-in speaker when headphones are connected or an alternative speaker system is connected, and Bluetooth functionality which lets it function as a wireless receiver to play music playback. 3D playback is also supported as well.
Subjectively, I discovered the GP500 to have extremely accurate grayscale OOTB. I measured a DeltaE of just 2.3 which is lower than what's visible to the human eye but still quite good. The Dynamic Contrast function really helped to bring depth to Life of pi's few night scenes and the color display was excellent. Avatar was also extremely impressive.
GP500 Black
The GP500 has opening tabs both on the left and right sides of the shield. It is Pinlock Max Vision ready. It also comes with an e-shield lock to prevent it from opening during riding (or in the event of an accident). There's a double-d ring fastener to the rear of the helmet. It's non-tool-operated.
The auto-focus feature was extremely fast and efficient creating clear, crisp images that had lots of distinct shades. It was unable to cope with the dark scenes at night in Life of Pi but overall it created a cinematic vibe.
There aren't any race rep graphics for the GP500 but you can purchase Airoh Sectors, Scrape and Cosmos in plain black. You can also purchase it with Rockstar Drive and Check graphics to give it a more race-focused look.
GP500 White

This model also comes with extremely durable puncture-proof tires to ensure that you don't get flats when out and out and about.
Other important features include 3D playback which can be activated via the built-in DLP-Link glasses. It's great to see that this projector still supports this feature, considering that some brands have dropped it recently.
The GP500 White also has several common, but not so common quality-of-life features like Keystone and Corner Fit (which is digital image warping). These can be useful in less than ideal installations since they make it easier to display a flat image. They do, however, affect image quality. This is a critical aspect to take into consideration. The GP500 produced extremely clean and distinct colors, and also provided excellent grayscale performance OOTB.
