The vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly app that lets you pick the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For example, you can decide to let the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the kitchen and living rooms but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only drawback is that the robot vacuum best tends to hit objects and walls at full speed. This is the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also packed with features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and has just three physical buttons which include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to return the robot to its dock. The only downside I found with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. It is possible to change the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to remove the mount for washing manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number smart features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and set up these smart features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to allow voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

It can be controlled via the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and understand and the X40 has many smart features that are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, see mapping and floor plans and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers numerous convenient features, making it a great choice for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin, and clean the mop pads, then refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It will also tell you whether the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation before it overflows.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive available, but it packs in a lot of additional features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that uses two high-speed mops to scrub floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and it comes with a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can remove pet hair and other small dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This feature is great because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature has yet to be seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a great way of keeping your home cleaner for longer.
