Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills and staining) in one time without the need to switch out devices. They also can save space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bins and refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads using an appropriate dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has a lot to offer at a low cost, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start manual can get you running in no time. You'll have a a full dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. Its mops spin at high speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly app that lets you pick the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For example, you can decide to let the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the kitchen and living rooms but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only drawback is that the robot vacuum best tends to hit objects and walls at full speed. However, a quick look at the history of cleaning on the app will reveal precisely what the robot has accomplished, where it's going, and which obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance jobs are required, such as emptying the debris tray, and washing the water tank that is dirty. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank, using a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. You can view the complete cleaning details within the app, which is intuitively laid out and easily understood although we would like to be able distinguish between a mop only vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's flagship robot mop and vacuum. The model this year has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pick up small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners might overlook.

The Roborock model, just like the other two I tried, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates a dual-camera that can identify objects, determining whether they're walls or other surfaces. It then can alter its path in a way that is best automatic vacuum cleaner and clean around them without stumbling.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also packed with features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and has just three physical buttons which include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin fills up automatically.

The only downside I found with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. It is possible to change the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to remove the mount for washing manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number smart features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and set up these smart features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to allow voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot cleaner with mop vacuum and mop is a market leader with its innovative features, top suction power and cutting-edge mopping capabilities. Its intelligent design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner (telegra.ph) is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair, crumbs and other dry mess. It also comes with a high-quality mop that makes hard floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. In addition the X40 is very quiet during it's operation, producing only occasional bursts of noise when switching modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.

Another notable characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brushes, that allows it to reach hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture, such as tables and chairs' legs. It also allows the robot to reach under furniture that is low-profile, making it a great option for smaller apartments and condominiums with small spaces. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through the frequent back-and-forth movement.

Contrary to other robots which only focus on one task, the X40 can do mopping and vacuuming at the same time or separately. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and understand and the X40 has many smart features that are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, see mapping and floor plans and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers numerous convenient features, making it a great choice for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin, and clean the mop pads, then refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It will also tell you whether the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation before it overflows.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive available, but it packs in a lot of additional features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that uses two high-speed mops to scrub floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and it comes with a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can remove pet hair and other small dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This feature is great because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature has yet to be seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a great way of keeping your home cleaner for longer.

There are a lot of options, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or you can utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and offers a variety of options to customize your cleaning routine. It also offers several functions that are not available on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks sophisticated and classy. It's heavier than some of the other two-in-1 robots on this list - at around 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy either, and it feels robust and well built. The mopping system is well-designed, and the double rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
