Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The best method to upgrade your equipment in Path of Exile is through item upgrades. This allows you to enhance your gear without having to rely on expensive trades or drops. This article will help you understand how to upgrade your items.

Upgrades in equipment can add an increase to the item's base stats. The amount of bonus varies depending on the rarity and strength of the upgrade component.

Components

Upgrade components make your armour and weapons stronger. You can get them from fighting off enemies, locating them in item spheres, or buying them from karma merchants. They can also be rescued from equipment with them, or through a high-tier salvage kit such as the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Unlike most other items upgrades aren't destroyed when removed from an item.

Upgrade components are typically used to upgrade items an item, however, they can also be used for other purposes. They can be stacked to increase the level or the amount of experience gained by upgrading equipment or weapons. They can be forged for additional benefits. For instance, a designed glyph will increase the chances of upgrading its target, whereas the boost upgrade can boost the defense or attack attribute of a weapon or armor.

Selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will allow you to bind it to an item. This will show the upgrade components that the item can be upgraded. You can also use the workbench for selecting an upgrade template. In either case, the item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components have been collected.

Each component is assigned an experience multiplier. This determines the amount of experience an item gains when upgraded with that component. For instance, organic components offer an experience multiplier that is higher than mechanical ones. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade using organic components until you reach the multiplier of experience for the next rank of the equipment or weapon, and then change to mechanical upgrades.

In addition to the experience multiplier Each item also comes with a maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of upgrades are determined by its upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade available to the upgradeable item. For instance, the highest possible weapon upgrade is a weapon with tier 10. The most popular weapon upgrade is a tier 6 gun and a armor upgrade of tier 5.

Sets

A set is a collection of items that have the benefit of. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least once, and the upgrade item increases the guaranteed bonuses. The first time you upgrade an item, its primary stat will be +1. On subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be increased even more (for instance +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded, one of its additional stats is increased randomly.

Upgrades can also increase the base damage of a weapon. This can be crucial for certain types of weapons. However, weapons can't be upgraded to a higher defense base than their normal base. Upgrading can be a good method to increase the value of some set and unique items, but it's important to note that they might not be more effective than a high-level raneword in any build.

If you are upgrading an item that comes with an added bonus it can be rerolled once, and its guarantee will reset back to 0. The same power die is used to roll an item as it would be to level it up. However, the new item upgrade has different bonuses. The NPC [Armor] Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will require a power die of each kind (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the right amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collector and can be purchased with Gold. NPCs will also provide special rewards for each level of the upgrade process. The reward can be rerolled a single time, using the same materials and components as the first item.

Rerolling

If the player has enough rerolling tokens, they can roll any item they've acquired during the game. When an upgraded item is being rerolled, it can be exchanged for a level 1 version of the same item in another set. Reroll tokens can be purchased at the store for a small amount of in-game currency, but they aren't refundable. The new item upgraded will still come with the extra benefits of the previous one however its stats will differ also.

In addition to rerolling objects, players can also change the identification of any item by engaging with an upgrader NPC. This will change its identification as a weapon to armor or reverse the process. The base requirements and stats remain the same. The change is permanent and will affect all characters that own the gear in question.

Players can also increase the level of their item on any equipped device by obtaining upgrade components and communicating with the NPC who upgrades the item. The cost of upgrading will depend on the upgrade track, item type, and the number of crests. Each step will add 5% more damage to weapons.

Upgrades can increase the capability of an item, but they also can decrease its quality. It is therefore important to strike a balance between the two. Certain items might not be worth upgrading at all however, others will need to be upgraded to realize their potential. A player may want to upgrade the breakpoint armor by adding an interesting modifier ( percent block chance, or FHR) to explore what else it can become.

The main reason people are able to reroll in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is that they're trying to get a specific weapon or character that they can't otherwise obtain. The process of obtaining these items can be costly and time-consuming and the RNG gods don't always want to play. The only alternatives are to spend real money or grind for a long time. Rerolling is a very popular choice in Genshin Impact.

Leveling

You can decide to upgrade the weapon or armor after upgrading an item. This feature is not available in the current version of the game. I think it was meant to to give some value to rare items, but as gear in general drops fairly quickly and is only upgraded one level up it is likely that you will replace the item before it gets old enough. It's also not worth upgrading items using gem sockets since the power of the stone will outweigh any increase in ilvl.

If you click the upgrade button on an item, you'll get a small screen with the upgrade items template for the Item upgrade and the cost of crest and Valorstone to boost the level of the item upgrader kit. Armor and weapons have different costs, with the latter usually being more expensive. The upgrade template lists the stats that can be added to an upgraded item as well as its current ilvl.

The cost of the Valorstone and Crest is calculated using the item's current Ilvl and the upgrade templates. The ilvl will also be reduced by the upgrade templates lvl reduction percentage. For example an upgrade of 8% will reduce the weapon's ilvl by 8 to 88%.

In addition to the base ilvl increase, the item will also be upgraded in other stats such as critical strike damage, damage from PvE and dodge, block, and parry rating. The increases are also built on the upgrade template.

In the upgrade template you can check the amount of damage or defense that the item will suffer after it is leveled up. This is shown below the cost and the upgrade percentages. In addition to practice equipment, all items and armor get the same stats once upgraded. The value of these stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly rolled perfect version of a weapon or piece of armor is able to command higher trade values than non-upp'd versions. The same applies to other pieces of armor like circlets and Tiaras.
