The best robot vacuum cleaner and mop Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment, with a focus on robot vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those who are looking to get rid of mopping off their list of tasks. Some models have superior navigation and obstacles avoidance. Some wash and refill mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you should select if you're looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other options on this list making it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar that combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last for up to 170 minutes when cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery during the cleaning.
It's very efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways in just one motion. Its 8,000pa suction motor makes short work of picking up dirt, crumbs, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.
The mopping performance is a little less impressive, though not by a lot. The mop rotates at a high rate and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scrubbing up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a bit more than other robots. This is useful when you're trying to get into difficult corners or on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger debris such as books and toys that have been damaged.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tested. It is quieter and doesn't produce more noise when vacuuming or mopping. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for mopping and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is easy to set up, and it works well. However when you purchase this vacuum solely for mopping it is important to be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it an ideal choice for homeowners who want a highly effective, versatile and ad-hoc cleaning machine.
The device is equipped with a powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out your home and identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and methodically. This will result in an efficient, consistent clean which is also relatively quick.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach many surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other hard to reach areas. The side brush can be stretched to extend to the floor, close to the walls and other fixtures. In addition the mop pads are able to be dried and washed to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce odors.
App-based customization is yet another noteworthy feature. The Q Revo lets you adjust the amount of suction, and choose between a back-and-forth or slightly more random patterns. You can also alter the number of passes it will make, which will affect how fast the device will traverse your home. You can also choose to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.
It's expensive, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It is important to note, however, that the device is subject to regular expenses, such as mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For example the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad should be replaced every one to three months.
This robotic vacuum cleaner has an excellent Amazon rating and includes an array of physical automation features. The vacuum also has an energy button that doubles as a 'Clean' button' and a 'Home button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and wash and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home neat without spending too much time doing chores. It's a top-performing device, smart navigation, and a long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home tidy with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum reviews vacuum and mop which means it can handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two modules that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping module which has microfiber pads. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming, but it does mean that you don't need to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature was its accurate floorplan which it uses to determine a route when cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture, rugs, and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.
We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing hair from pets. It was able to collect many of the hair that our cats shed, and even got into the nooks and crannies of our stairs where other robots have struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low, and there were some lovely jingles that inform you that it was in the process of working towards its goal.
The app was too easy and you had to alter the modules each time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't contain multiple maps, which can be a hassle if you have a home that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a excellent choice for those who are looking for a smart device that can mop and vacuum.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuums that mop vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. It does however, have some unique features which are worth a look. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its enormous dock, which serves as the robot's charging base and housing for two water tanks, a cleaning sink, and an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically eliminates.
The base has several control buttons that allow you to manually begin a cleaning task, recall the robot or use the dock's auto vacuum and mop-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to toggle a child lock that is a great option for parents concerned about children playing with the vacuum.
Similar to other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in recognizing objects.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally become so entangled with an obstacle--such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. While it was not common however, it was a gruelling experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't come with an "stuck" status alert in its app.
The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't an issue apart from the fact that the mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for the market that is dominated by boxy units.
