Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our bare floor tests They're also particularly adept in cleaning pet hair. However, they have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. For one, the Q5's navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to become entangled in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate rooms with a lot of people efficiently in our tests. Also, it doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of an area.
It's still a good value, especially if your home or office has a lot of bare floors and you want to save some money. It's also very quiet and works while you are at work or in school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't hold on for long and don't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle, however. If you need to clean the mopping pad, it can be replaced with one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a compact, sleek package. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It has advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads on its own).
It's the only robot vacuum/mop that has an exemplary 10/10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.
The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It has an easy mobile application interface and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in the mornings before work, or during the night when you are trying to fall asleep.
It's also a bit expensive, although it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally powerful and look better. If you're willing to live with a bit more noise and some additional cost this is a capable two-in-one that should satisfy most people.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner that is similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum, refills the water tank, and washes and drys mop pads.
The smart robot employs an array of LIDAR and structured light to map out the floor plan and detect obstacles, navigating more intelligently than some of its premium competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time however, it wasn't 100% foolproof during our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.
The vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to accomplish the task. It also comes with a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for various areas of the house based on how dirty the areas tend to be.
If you have a bigger home, it's worth choosing a model that has zones or spot cleaning modes.
