The Intermediate Guide In Robot Vacuum Deals
Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals
If you've always wanted to buy a robot vacuum now is the time. CNET's top models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday, with savings of up to 57%.
The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot with smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its 180-minute running time is impressive. It also automatically refills and self-empties its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba J7+, IRobot's most intelligent robot to date, is the Roomba J7+. Its greatest breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that makes use of built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes, and the pet waste that most other robots can't avoid (and often go through). It's also the first to automatically send you a picture of an object it encounters so that you can tell it to avoid it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the best self cleaning vacuum robot mop we have ever tested. It picks up dirt and spills quickly leaving no trace it was there. It's simple to control via the iRobot Home app that allows you to schedule cleaning times and create Keep Out Zones to make sure it doesn't clean areas you do not want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it using voice.
Its design is an improvement over the rest and features a sleek, top piece that appears more like a toy rather than a loud, loud one. And the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System self-empties which is great for reducing your cleanup time.
In our tests, the j7+ was quick to clean up dust, dirt and pet hair. Its counter-rotating rubber brush rolls kept the debris in one spot instead of scattering it across the floor. It was able to collect small gravel, sand and even a bit of grit. Most robots can't achieve this feat. It did all this without getting tangled in our pet's hair.
The j7+, although not as smart as the Roomba S9, which costs $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and it can't clean the stairs, it's an excellent choice for those who want both mopping and vacuum. It's not expensive and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, but we found it less reliable as other robotic vacuum cleaner reviews cleaner apps. It can take a long time to download updates, and often it's difficult to tell whether the update is working until you've seen it in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking for a robot vacuum that does more than simply clean floors, the best option is probably a hybrid. These bots are equipped with a water tank so they can vacuum and mop simultaneously. They also come with a variety of extra features, including smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance, and even the capability to wash and dry mopping pads. They're expensive at retail, but they often come down in price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock has some of our favorite robot vacuums and the Q5+ isn't an exception. This is the least expensive model in their auto-empty line. While it may not have some of the more luxurious features (like no-go areas and multi-story memories) however, it's a great choice if you are willing to compromise to save a few bucks.
The Q5+ is noticeably gentle around obstacles such as wall legs and table legs which makes it an excellent choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also extremely thorough when it comes to cleaning dust bunnies, which is a problem where cheaper robot vacuums fall short. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is fantastic as well, with only a few misses in corners and along walls.
Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled by the buttons on the device itself or via the Roborock app. With the app you can start and stop cleanings or schedules, establish virtual barriers and no-go zones and modify your home map or change the labeling of rooms.
If you choose the Q5+ model, it comes with a new auto emptying dock that is designed to make the robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, however, once it's in place it can be done without difficulty. It also has an impressive LCD display which is great to have when creating schedules or changing settings. This isn't an essential feature for the majority of people, but it's one that can aid in keeping the track of your robot cleaning machine's maintenance intervals easily.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly clever in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design and features are among the top available - but it's also pricey.
Its base station looks good and is easily hidden when not in use, and the size is relatively compact. The station's main selling point is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, functions and chores that other robots leave to you. It can store dirty and clean water and electrolyze and heat the water. Many other robots require this.
Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive and efficient, too. It's one of the few robot vacuums I've tested that do very well at cleaning up debris from unfinished floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.
The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robot vacuums. This means that it could get stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms in the house. It's not able to climb stairs as well as competitors, for instance and it doesn't have a dock that lets the user to set up an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for carpets with plush padding.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent option for those looking for a vacuum robot that can do everything.
But if you want to save some cash, or just don't care about the limitations of this machine, there are plenty of other great choices on the market which include a variety of eufy models for substantially less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for instance, is cheaper, but offers more features, including stair climbing and a full-function Dock, which provides the ability to provide a more thorough vacuuming experience on floors that are unfinished carpets with low pile, and even high-pile ones.
4. eufy RoboVac g30
Eufy, an Anker company is a long-standing leader of producing robot vacuums that strike a good balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different and offers a powerful cleaning of hard floors and mopping functions as well as carpets at an affordable robot vacuum price point. It's easy to set up, simply connect one of the side brush, turn it on and plug in your charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps needed to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. The dock will need to be located near an outlet with plenty of room to move.
The G30 is a compact device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, which means it is able to fit under most couches and pieces of low-clearance furniture. Its design isn't as ostentatious compared to some rival models. It has a sleek black finish and three physical buttons for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs the area in a spiral pattern for two minutes), Recharge and Spot Cleaner. You can also connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform unscheduled cleaning.
The most important feature that makes the G30 apart from its competitors is the way it cleans. It makes use of a built-in map to create an image of the immovable objects it encounters, remembering what it's already cleaned and where it can't access. It automatically returns to the base to recharge and continues cleaning where it left off.
The elegant G30 isn't without its faults, though. The iRobot Roomba 675 is better built, incurs lower recurring costs, charges faster and offers similar battery life. It also offers better performance on floors with no carpet and low-pile carpet. It has a bigger dust bin, which does not require the same amount of emptying. It also has boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 is less expensive and easier to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't need to be emptied as frequently and it's less trouble with bulky materials like cereal.
