The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot cleaner robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention. It will leave your floors clean. Its surprisingly affordable price and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are great features.

Make sure to check your robot vacuum and mop's brushes regularly for tangled debris and hair. Wash them if needed. Some models also self-empty their onboard dustbin into a larger one at the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They have top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other premium iRobots (including the most powerful model), they use smart mapping to produce precise floorplans that avoid obstacles like furniture legs. They also feature a feature called carpet boost which boosts the robot's power when it spots an abundance of dirt on the carpet, allowing it cleaned up quickly.

Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our floor tests that test for bare floors, and they're particularly adept in cleaning pet hair. However, they have some flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to getting stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate through rooms with a lot of people efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of an area.

It's still a great option to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a bare-floored home or office. It's also quiet and works while you are at work or at school. The only thing it lacks that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective in mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on very well and can't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with self-emptying docks, however. And, if you have to, you can switch the mopping pad for a dry one in seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can mop floors. Its smart cleaning maps and quick navigation make it easy to clean, and efficient in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also features strong suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, but it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensors to keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time and provide cleaner and more efficient cleaning. You can alter the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones with the well-designed app. Its battery life is average when compared to similar models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to remove and extend its mop. This helps prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also ideal for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, X30 Ultra was the most efficient robot vacuum mop cleaner robot/mop which could clean an entire home with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a good cleaning job on a variety of floors and rooms with different flooring types including some area rug. Its obstacle detection was top-notch and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically fills up its base, and also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after vacuuming, a feature that we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combos.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba rather than the compact models this mop and robot vacuum is one of the most attractive looking models in our evaluations. The newest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest and has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop to score 100% in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely self-refill and empty its base station, and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, with a simple mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only issue is that it's an eerily noisy device, which can be problematic if you run it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you attempt to sleep.

It's also quite expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to put up with a bit more noise and some extra cost it's a efficient two-in-one device that should satisfy most people.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot mop and vacuum. It has a range of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. Similar to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes care of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to create floor plans and detect obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its competitors with premium features. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum has a suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to finish the job. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vacuum works and also alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house depending on the amount of dirt they are.

For larger homes it's recommended to choose one with zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean a particular area of your house via the app or voice commands. If you have lots of furniture, a stair mode is also useful. Also a recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to take over exactly where it left off is great for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more sophisticated than the price suggests. It does a stellar job vacuuming, picking up 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad that has a reciprocating motion that is cleaner than the other robot mop cleaners we've tested. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate a mapping run that collects data on your floorplan and any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to organize a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas to improve performance. The app offers a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It can also reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It features an impressive 8,000 Pascal suction, as well as clever combs for removing pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are shaped like adorable eyes. It is capable of vacuuming but is more prone to be caught by low thresholds and is more noisy than the other top robotic hoovers vacuums we've tested. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
