1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They feature motors that are top of the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the top model), they use intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans that avoid obstacles like cords and furniture leg. The robots also feature a feature called Carpet Boost that increases its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on floors that were bare and are especially adept at cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have several flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. For one, the Q5's navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to get caught up in shoes and socks and can't navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. Also, it doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of the room.
However, it's a good choice, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. And, if you have to, you can switch the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of minutes.

During testing during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete the entire house with 66 percent of its battery left. It did a decent cleaning job on various flooring and rooms with different kinds of flooring, including some area rug. Its obstacle detection was great and it stayed clear of fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles cables.
It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically emptys into its base, and also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
