The Roomie Glide is available to purchase at John Lewis for PS160, which Roanna felt was a reasonable price for a cot with the most innovative features. It's easy to open and close the side panel using a new mechanism. It's also more flexible than the previous model, with 11 different height settings as well as legs that retract to place under any bed.
Our testers appreciated the ease of access offered by the side panel that can be moved up and downwards with just one push of a button. This was a huge help during night time feeds, as it meant they could easily reach in and take their baby away without disturbing them.
It is possible to lower the side panel itself but this is not recommended, as it increases the risk that your child could fall out of the cot. However, the safety locking mechanism ensures that it will only remain in place when it is attached to the bed properly. This feature is great for peace of mind if you're breastfeeding and require frequent nighttime feeds.
Telescopic legs enable the Chicco Next2Me Magic to be used with any bed, such as divan bases and beds with drawers. The Next2Me Magic was easy to use and set up for our testers despite the lengthy instruction manual. It's heavier than some of the other side-sleepers but it's still very portable and can be moved from room to room easily. It's also able to fold up into its travel bedside crib bag, which is ideal when you need to transport it. The only negative our testers have found is that the side panel did not move as much as other models. This made it a little harder to see your baby from your bed.
