Robot vacuums and mops are becoming more capable, acing our tests for cleaning and taking on various floor types. Look for models that allow you to select between several modes, utilize their charging dock to self-empty and clean up stairs.
Many of the top models are compatible with smartphones. Look for an application that lets you save schedules, maps and select cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
The gloss black and gunmetal Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is one of most impressive mop and robot vacuum combos available. It uses lidar for navigation, creating maps of floors and rooms.
When I tested the S1, it was quick to identify the downstairs area, which has linoleum flooring in the kitchen-diner and bathrooms, along with carpeting with a medium-pile and an area rug. It was able to drive right up to walls without crashing into them, and even managed to cross thresholds for rooms that are raised without issue, though it occasionally struggled to get down the stairs in one step. The S1 also did a great job cleaning hard floors by dragging its mop effortlessly on its flat side against the floor and lifting itself when it reached carpet or rug.
The docking station of the S1 automatically empties its trash bin and fills its water tank on board with clean, ozonated water before every mopping session. The dock provides an extra-deep cleaning solution to the water. The S1's water tank can hold enough water for about twelve cleaning sessions before it needs to be emptied, though this will vary depending on how often you use the mop.
The S1 needs periodic maintenance, just like any other 2-in-1 robots that vacuum and mop. It is necessary to regularly wash out the tank that has been contaminated to keep it from becoming blocked. Also, you'll need to clean your sensors and swivel wheel regularly to prevent them from getting clogged up with dirt or dust. Overall the S1 is easy to maintain, particularly compared to other combinations which require more effort to maintain.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
This all-in-one robot mop and vacuum combo from Ecovacs is a reliable option for your cleaning needs. The Ecovacs robot vacuum comes with 8,700Pa suction power and comes with a variety of advanced features like voice control and smart path scheduling that cleans furniture and eliminates obstacles. Its mopping capability is impressive, with rotating mops that actually lift and scrub the floor rather than simply drag the pad across it. The mops can also be dried and cleaned at the base station when needed.
The robot comes with a simple interface that guides you throughout the process. It also includes a hand vacuum that can be used to clean hard-to reach areas that the robot vacuums that mop cannot reach. There are also two water tanks which are automatically filled or empty. It has a variety of settings that can be used to fine-tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does well at vacuuming, with strong suction that easily removes most of the debris, and even tiny dust particles that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are pretty good, although it can get stuck on small mats and rugs around my home (which you can reduce by creating virtual boundaries in the app). Its mopping capabilities are also quite good and include a pair of mop pads that can lift and scrub the floor instead of moving the pad across it. The mops are also cleaned with hot water and dried in the basestation as required. The mops are also filled from the top of the base station as needed.
3. Dreame X40 Ultra
Dreame released the luxe X30 Ultra earlier this year and their new top-of-the-line robot mop and vacuum comes with more impressive features. It is a great cleaner and is easy to maintain. This makes it a worthy contender for our list of the best robot vacuum best vacuums and mop. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart detection, and an expanded side brush ensure that an effective, customized cleaning is completed.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming, picking up fine and large debris from hard floors as well as carpets. It cleaned the dirtiest places of our tests well, avoiding pet hairs and other mess. The sweeping capability of the machine is enhanced by a sidebrush that automatically moves out to reach hard-to-reach areas, and a mop pad that extends across baseboards.
Its navigation is nimble, navigating tight spaces and climbing stairs without skipping a beat. It can move from one area to another without reversing direction it is a useful feature for larger homes with multiple rooms. Its obstacle avoidance system is less advanced than the ones of other competitors and leaves a wide margin over obstacles. This could lead to missing spots.
Its app has a streamlined, intuitive interface that should be easy for both novice and experienced users. The app allows you to schedule and manage cleaning tasks. You can also alter the suction power, mop settings, and look up 3-D and 2-D maps. You can control it via the app, Alexa or Google Assistant. You can even remotely control the X40 Ultra camera for real-time monitoring. You'll need a stable internet connection to use it via the app and external controls.
4. Roomba Q5 pro
A robot vacuum does an excellent job of removing debris and dirt, but it can't always get every last piece of dust. It's important to vacuum often, at least once a week. This is especially true for dust that builds up in corners, on shelves, and in the crevices of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop robot that was designed specifically for this purpose. It's easy to connect to your home Wi-Fi network and integrates with Alexa and Apple Siri, making it an even more useful addition to your routine of cleaning.
The Q5 is an unadorned version of the company's pricier S-series models, including the flagship Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. It is equipped with the same LIDAR mapping sensors, however it's less expensive because it doesn't come with mopping capabilities and has a plastic body.
Although it's no longer able to clean your floors, the Q5 still offers the best mopping and vacuum performance we've seen from a robotic at this price. It has powerful 5500Pa suction and an automatic emptying system, which means you don't need to empty the bin manually every time. It also features a smart app that lets you set your floor type and schedule cleanings, and an automatic refill of the water tank and wash system for hands-free operation.
The mops are also quite impressive, with 2700Pa of power to tackle dust, dirt, and pet hair on both hard floors and carpets. The Q5 was one of the few robots we tested to not have problems with high-pile rugs and carpets. However, it was able to not handle kitty litter or cable tangles. This isn't too surprising as it doesn't contain AI-powered obstacle avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is one of the quietest robot vacuums we have tested. It also has a unique method to map your home, which allows it to get into the corners and tight spaces that other vacuums cannot reach. The device also stores dust in a larger dustbin which means you need empty it less frequently. It also has washable filters which reduces the cost. The robot can recognize carpets and increase suction if necessary. You can also mark areas you would like the robot to avoid using the app.
