This Story Behind Best Robot Vacuum That Mops Will Haunt You Forever
The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment. His focus is on robot vacuum best vacuums, and mopping combinations. Multitaskers are an excellent choice for those who want to eliminate mopping from their to-do lists. They have impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance, and some wash and refill their mopping pads to give themselves a hands-off clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking for a robotic vacuum that also mop, this is the model to look for. It's smaller than other models on this list, making it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It has a 220-degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery part way through cleaning.
It is very efficient and does an outstanding job cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways in just one motion. The suction motor's 8,000pa will quickly pick up sand, dirt, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets and the double side brush helps to remove debris from corners.
The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop rotates quickly and makes use of 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stain. I've also noticed that the front arms protrude out slightly more than other robots, which can be helpful to get into tight corners and on baseboards. The same front arms can be employed to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys or books.
Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've ever used. It doesn't make as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform its mopping function and is separate from the vacuum. It is easy to install and works well. However should you purchase this robot vacuum for mopping you must pay attention to this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuum cleaner uk vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a variety of features.
The device has an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map your home and detect furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean efficiently and effectively. This will ensure an even and thorough clean and is also rapid.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach an array of surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other difficult to reach areas. They also have a flexible side brush that can extend to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. Additionally, the mop pads can be dried and washed to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the smell.
Another notable feature is the app-based customization options. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction intensity and choose either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also select the number of passes which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can also choose to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.
The device is costly, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It is important to remember that the device will incur recurring expenses in the form mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For instance, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad needs to be replaced every one to three months.
This robot vacuums that mop (websites) vacuum that mops has an excellent rating on Amazon and offers a wide array of physical automation features. These include an energy button that serves as a general "Clean' button and a 'Home button that sends it back to its base station after finishing its cleaning task. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empties the dustbin, refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dries its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home neat without spending too much time doing chores. Its powerful performance, smart navigation, and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean home with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it can handle mopping and vacuuming. The robot has two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir, and a separate mopping unit with microfiber pads that snap into and out of the way. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping but it does mean that you don't need to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its best feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.
We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing hair from pets. It was able to capture some of the hair that sheds from our cats. It even got into some of the nooks and crannies on our stairs, where other robots that vacuum and mop had struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low, and there were some nice jingles to let you know that it was in the process of working towards its goal.
Its biggest drawbacks were its simple app and the need to change out the modules when switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't store multiple maps, which could be a problem when you live in a house with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want an intelligent robot that can perform both mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. It does however, have some unique features which make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni is most notable for its huge dock that doubles as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin as well as the 2.5 liter dust bin.
The base has a few control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning task and then recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Press two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are worried about their kids messing around with the vacuum.
Similar to other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni will sometimes get so entangled with obstacles, like the power cord that is draped across a rug, that it gets stuck and stops working until you manually free it. This was a rare incident however, it was a bit frustrating because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert on its application.
Another issue that could be a problem is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad however, mopping pads don't get washed or dried between uses. This could lead to mildew and mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing appearance in a market that is dominated by clunky boxy models.
