There are some issues however, which prevent them from being our top option. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's also prone to getting stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate densely packed rooms very well during our tests. It also doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of the room.
It's still a great option for those who want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also very quiet and works when you're at work or at school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle however. If you want to change the mopping pad for dry ones in just a few just a few seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can mop floors. 3. iRobot Roomba X40
With an elegant circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' compact models, this mop and robot vacuum is one of the most attractive designs in our tests. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also among its most advanced. It comes with advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).
It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that has an exemplary 10/10 in our testing due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a camera, structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.
The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It has an easy mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's an eerily noisy device which could be an issue if you use it in the morning before work, or at night when you try to sleep.
It's also somewhat expensive, though it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally capable and look better. If you're willing to live some more volume and some extra cost it's a efficient two-in-one device that should satisfy most people.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot hoover robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine like Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically empty the autonomous vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, and cleans and dries the mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and detect obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its top competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection but this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused with obstructions or power cords.

It's also self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self emptying, washable base.
The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate a mapping run which collects information about your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or set up an automatic vacuum and mop spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas for greater efficiency. The app comes with a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.
