The latest flagship model from iRobot is also its smartest. It comes with advanced features like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads on its own).
It's also the sole robot autonomous vacuum/mop to score the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to a combination modern sensors, including a restructured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot mop we tested that can fully self-refill and empty its base station and it boasts the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It comes with an easy mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in mornings before work, or in the evening when you're trying to sleep.
It's also a bit expensive, but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally powerful and more attractive. This is a two-in-one vacuum that is very efficient however, it's going to cost you more and produce more noise.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum and mop. It comes with a variety of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device like Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and fills up the water tank, and washes and drys the mop pads.
