1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most advanced robot vacuum to date. Its most significant breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to recognize objects like charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste that most other robots can't avoid (and often slough through). It's also the first robot to automatically send you a picture of any object it encounters so that you can tell it to avoid it in the future.

The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop we have ever tested. It picks up dirt and spills quickly, leaving no trace that it was there. It's easy to control using the iRobot Home app which allows you to schedule cleaning times and create Keep Out Zones to make sure it doesn't sweep areas you do not want it to. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it from start to stop with your voice.

Its design is also a step above the competition and features a sleek, top piece that looks more like a toy than a loud, obnoxious one. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt Disposal System is also self-emptying which can cut down on cleaning time.

In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ quickly removed dust, dirt, and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in its place rather than scattering it around the floor. It was able to collect sand, small gravel and even a bit of grit. The majority of robots cannot accomplish this feat. It did without getting caught up in our pet's hair.

If you're looking to purchase a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, the best Amazon vacuum choice is probably one that is a hybrid. These robots come with a water tank so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. They also have a range of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance, and the ability to wash and dry mopping pads. They are expensive at retail, but they often come down in price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock produces several of our top robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. fail to impress. This is the cheapest model in their auto-empty line. Although it doesn't include some of the expensive features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories), it's still an excellent choice if you are willing to compromise to save a few bucks.

The Q5+ is extremely gentle when it comes to obstacles like tables and walls. This makes it an ideal option for homes with lots of furniture. It's also extremely thorough when it comes to cleaning up dust bunnies, which is a problem which many robot vacuums can really fall short. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is excellent too, with very little missing in corners and along walls.

The Q5+, like other Roborock products can be controlled via only a few buttons on your device, or via the Roborock App. Through the app, you can begin and stop cleanings, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and alter your home map or change the labels of rooms.

If you opt for the Q5+ model, it comes with a new auto-empty dock that's specifically designed to make this robot simple to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once in place it can be accomplished easily. It has a large LCD screen, which is useful when setting up schedules and adjusting settings. This isn't an essential feature for most people but it can help you keep track of the maintenance intervals for your robot easily.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly clever in its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design is one of the top in the market however, it's costly.

The base station is attractive and is easily hidden when not in use, and the size is relatively compact. But the station's biggest selling point is how it automates numerous tasks and functions that other robots will leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which the majority of other robots require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot fully charged and clean.

And its vacuuming is impressive as well. It's one of the only robovacs that I've tried that does a really good job of cleaning up debris from bare floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.

The Freo X Ultra is not without faults, particularly in the area of navigation. The laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, meaning it can get stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the home. It's not able climb stairs as well as competitors, and it doesn't have a dock that allows the user to set up a dedicated cleaning zone for carpets with plush padding.

While it doesn't offer as much in the way of cleaning-related options in its app or as many shortcuts in the app like other robovacs the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for those seeking a great all-round robot vacuum and mop that's worth the price tag.

But if you want to save some money, or just don't care about the limitations of this robotic there are many alternatives available, including a lot of eufy models for considerably less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for example, is cheaper and offers a similar in-app experience with more features, including stair climbing, a full-function dock, and superior overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.

4. eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy is an Anker company with a history of producing robot vacuums that have the right combination of features, performance, and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning power for hard and carpeted flooring, and mopping capabilities for a low cost. It's easy to set up, just snap one of the side brushes on, switch on and plug in the charging dock. The app takes you through the steps needed to connect it to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. The dock must be placed near an outlet with enough space to move.

The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be precise and can be tucked away under couches and other furniture with a low clearance. Its design is a little less ostentatious than some rival models, and features sleek black finishes and three buttons that are physical that control Auto Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs a space in spiral patterns for 2 minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.

The way the G30 cleans is what separates it from its rivals. It uses a built-in mapping to create an image of immovable objects it encounters, remembering what it's already cleaned and the areas it's not able to access. It then returns to the base to recharge and then continues cleaning the area it left.

The elegant G30 has its flaws, though. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower monthly costs. It charges faster, offers similar battery life and performs better on bare carpet or floors with low pile. It also has a larger dust bin that doesn't have to be emptied as often and comes with the boundaries that ensure it isn't in certain areas. The G30, on the other hand, is more affordable and much simpler to maintain. Its smaller container means it doesn't have to be emptied as often and it's less difficulty handling bulky products like cereal.
